Harvest Honors 2009 Award Receipients Announced

Parent Network of WNY honors Assemblyman Mark Schroeder and Daemen College at Harvest Honors Dinner

Parent Network of WNY recognized Assemblyman Mark Schroeder and Daemen College at its Annual Harvest Honors Dinner on October 29 at the Millennium Airport Hotel . Each year, the agency honors an individual and a community agency for their commitment and service to individuals with disabilities.

 
145th New York State Assemblyman Mark Schroeder received the 2009 Harvest Honors Spirit of Empowerment Award, presented to an individual who has helped to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with special needs. Since taking office Assemblyman Schroeder has tirelessly advocated on behalf of individuals with disabilities and often convenes families and professionals; intently listens to the issues; conducts research on the topic and facilitates movement of the issues to a solution. Parent Network of WNY views Mark as a friend and colleague in the disability community.
 
Daemen College received the 2009 Harvest Honors Community Partnership Award, presented to an agency, school or person who has assisted individuals with special needs through their activities. Daemen College is being honored for making a significant difference in the lives of people with disabilities and for the agency’s ability to collaborate with other agencies, including Parent Network of WNY. Dr. Martin J. Anisman, Daemen College President, acceptied the award on behalf of Daemen College.
