We created this page to provide resources for ending discrimination and injustices for Black people with disabilities and special needs.
Our hearts are broken as we mourn the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and countless other Black people who continue to be subjected to violence and discrimination on the very basis of the color of their skin.
Parent Network of WNY has long supported the work of advocates and activists to achieve a world of justice.
Disability intersects with every identity, which is why we believe it is important to speak up for inclusion, dignity, and justice.
Systemic racism has permeated Black communities with pain and suffering for countless years. In a time of uncertainty, we are certain of our commitment support the our families who have experienced trauma caused by on-going racism in America.
Parent Network of WNY is determined to move the needle forward in justice and equality in the special education system and for Black families. We stand with our fellow organizations empowering families of individuals with special needs as they resolve to collectively end racial discrimination against the Black community in the education system and in all facets of their livelihood.
Parent Network of WNY stands in solidarity with the Black community.
