Behavior Support Staff – Part Time

Parent Network of WNY is a not-for-profit agency that provides education and resources for families of individuals with special needs (birth through adulthood) and for professionals.

The Behavior Support Staff will work under the direction of the Behavior Intervention Coordinator to provide in-home behavioral supports to families caring for children with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the support and guidance of the implementation of an established behavior plan, support to families in the home or other locations in the community, collaboration with family members and other service providers and complete case not documentation in a timely manner. The ability to teach skills and create tools to implement behavior plan, track behavioral data and provide support to individuals awaiting admission as well as consultation with co-workers regarding behavior intervention.

Parent Network of WNY provides 1-on-1 Support and education through resources, workshops and support groups to assist families of individuals with disabilities to understand their disability and navigate the support service system.

The majority of Parent Network of WNY’s staff and board members are parents of children with disabilities, which provides a unique perspective, personal experience and empathy to the families we reach. Since the reorganization in 2001, Parent Network of WNY has served around 10,000 people a year.

Applicant must have one of the following: A high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience working with challenging behaviors and individuals with developmental disabilities; or an associate degree in related field and 3+ years of experience working with challenging behaviors and individuals with developmental disabilities; or a bachelor’s degree in related field and 1+ years of experience working with challenging behaviors and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Must have own transportation to travel around Erie and Niagara counties.

Hours between 15 – 20 per week.  Salary range $17 – $18 per hour.  Please send your resume and cover letter to admin@parentnetworkwny.org
