Halloween can be an exciting but stressful and overwhelming night, especially for children who have special needs.
Every year, Parent Network of WNY releases Halloween name tags for trick or treaters to have a better experience while trick or treating. The name tags can be safety pinned or tapped to a child’s outfit, costume, or pumpkin/trick or treat candy bag.
The name tags allow other individuals to be aware, more understanding and patient with visitors when approaching their home to grab candy. These can be especially helpful for individuals who are nonverbal.
If you are giving out candy this year or if you are out trick or treating, remember to be kind, don’t judge or bully others for being different, and be safe. Help make every child’s Halloween inclusive and memorable.
