
New York State has multiple systems that can support People with Disabilities get connected to services of support in the world of living, learning, and earning. The State Agencies are meant to help people with disabilities have equal access to living as independently as possible and being competitively employed, to name a few, by providing supports in those areas.
Each State Agency has their own eligibility process and services they offer. Each state Agency has different criteria for eligibility such as type of disability, age, required documentation and possible evaluations. The Navigating Adult Services tip sheet is a great way to see all the State Agencies and what they have to offer for People with Disabilities.
