We are proud to once again be able to offer the Parent Leadership Program – a comprehensive series of trainings that includes valuable information to help you understand supports and services for children and young adults with learning differences and disabilities and skill building to become an effective leader in your child’s life, school and community.
In depth information will be provided about:
- special education
- graduation requirements
- preparing for life in the real world after high school
- conflict resolution
- ways to advocate effectively
Participants must complete approved independent learning requirements and attend 2 in person sessions conveniently scheduled for Saturdays:
April 28th and June 2nd from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
at Daemen College, 4380 Main Street, Amherst, NY 14226
Those who have completed the series will be invited to celebrate their accomplishments with their families at dinner and a graduation ceremony on August 9th from 5:30-8:00 pm.
If you think the Parent Leadership Series is for you please submit an application by Friday, April 6th, 2018. If you don’t have the time right now or you don’t feel the program is for you, encourage someone you know to join the class.
