Parent Network of WNY is honored to announce that we have been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Western Region PTA Community Service Award. Each year, the Western Region PTA chooses to honor a person or organization for their outstanding efforts on behalf of children and families. The Community Service Award is given in recognition of their work that aligns with the mission of PTA.
Western Region PTA is a branch of the National PTA. They are 1 of 15 regions across New York State whose region covers Erie (with the exception of the City of Tonawanda and Grand Island), Genesee and Wyoming Counties. Western Region services 4 Councils and 61 units. Their members consist of parents, students, teachers, administrators, school board members and anyone who believes in their mission of making every child’s potential a reality.
Patty Frazier, the Region Director of the Western Region PTA states: “For the Community Service Award, we solicit our region board members for nominations based on their experiences in their communities. The award decision is reached after careful consideration of all nominations. The advocacy efforts along with the collaboration with several of our PTA units helped to make the Parent Network of WNY our clear choice”.
The presentation of the award will take place at their annual Partnership Dinner on Thursday, October 13.
