The 3rd Annual AT EXPO 2014 (Assistive Technology Conference)

BUFFALO, NY- The 3rd Annual AT EXPO 2014 (Assistive Technology) will be held on November 19, 2014 at Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave. Cheektowaga, NY 14225, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This expo is being sponsored by Parent Network of WNY, Early Childhood Direction Center (ECDC), People Inc. and Learning Partners.

Assistive technology (AT) is any kind of technology, tool, device or service that can be used to enhance the functional independence of a person with a disability.

The AT Expo will feature keynote speaker Greg Wellems, Chief Operating Officer of Imagine!, a service organization for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Wellems is a national consultant on SmartHomes and Assistive Technology strategic planning to improve supports for individuals with disabilities.

Other AT Expo speakers include, Katrina Fulcher, assistant professor at SUNY Fredonia in the Communication Disorders and Sciences department and Sheila Buck, an Occupational Therapist from Milton, Ontario who has been actively working in the field of seating and mobility for over 20 years.

The AT Expo is for assistive technology users, their families, educators, clinicians, agency providers and administrators. The Expo will have a vendor fair consisting of over 40 local and national AT vendors. The cost of this year’s AT Expo is $150, which includes vendor interaction and CEU’s will be available for mobility and communication tracks. Lunch is included.
